Nebul is a global architectural firm and urban-planning firm based in Pretoria, South Africa.
With the increasing population and extreme urbanisation which has been said to grow by 80 million people every year, Nebul is aiming to redefine it’s focus towards sustainable projects in line with the latest advancements in technology and environmental practices by “building the future today”.

Most significant pain points during the booking process

Overall, I learned that the most common pain points of using hotel booking apps were:

  • There is a need for improvement in the search entry and results screens (65% of users stated).

  • Occasionally, an excess of information and choices can lead to data saturation, leading to users looking elsewhere (25%+ of users stated).

  • Additional research is needed during the process to find everything the user is looking for (45% of users stated)

  • Fluctuations in price and undisclosed additional costs can lead to distrust of the app (55% of users stated).

    With these critical pain points in mind, the app’s design prioritized:

  • Enhancing the entire booking process.

  • Emphasizing seamless navigation.

  • Concise information delivery.

  • An improvement in pricing transparency.
